Construction Production Plunges 0.2% in the Euro Area in Nov., Improves in the EU

(Eurostat) Euro area posted a 0.2% decline in production in construction in November from October, amid a similar percentage increase in the EU. 

Euro Area and EU Production in the Construction Sector

On a monthly basis, building construction fell by 0.7% in the euro area in November, while civil engineering improved by 1.0%. The EU posted a 0.9% increase in civil engineering and a 0.4% decline in building construction in the same period. 

The largest monthly declines in production in construction were posted in Belgium, France, and Germany. Declines were noted the highest in Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia.

Compared to November 2020, production in construction was up by 0.5% in the euro area and a higher 1.3% in the EU. Gains were posted the highest in Poland, Hungary, and Finland, while declines were the highest in Slovenia, Belgium, and Spain.

DAX is up +0.52%, EURUSD is up +0.20%.
