Microsoft Reported a 21% Increase in Q4 Revenue on Upticks in Cloud Business

(Microsoft Inc.) Microsoft Inc. reported $ 46.2 billion revenue in the fourth quarter, up 21% from $38 billion in the same quarter last year.

Microsoft’s fourth quarter revenues were mainly fueled by cloud strengths, whose revenues grew 36% year over year to $19.5 billion.

The net income for the same quarter was $16.5 billion, a 47% rise compared to $11.2 billion reported in the fourth quarter of 2020.  

Microsoft Inc. announced a diluted EPS of $2.17 in the quarter ended June 30, 2021, compared to $1.46 last year, a 49% increase year over year.

The company returned $10.4 billion in share repurchases and dividends in the fourth quarter, a 16% increase compared to 8.97 billion in the same quarter last year.

Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella attributed the quarter’s positive growth to the innovative ways the company meets customer needs and commercial bookings growth.

MSFT : NASDAQ is up +0.4% on pre-market.
