Interview: Nvidia CEO’s Views on Proof of Stake Eth, Chip Shortage, and AI

(VentureBeat) Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang highly believes in ETH’s proof of stake. Huang says it carries a lot of credibility, works well, and many people can depend on it for DeFi.

Huang expects Ethereum to be “quite valuable,” with transactions processed faster.

On chip shortage, Huang expects the demand to continue for some time and insisted Nvidia will continue collaborating with the suppliers to inform them of flexibilities needed.

Huang says Nvidia developed CMP to allow flexibility.  The company reduced its GPU to allow users to buy a GPU for different uses such as gaming and crypto mining.

The Nvidia CEO also expressed optimism about the company making metaverse real, with video games being one of them.

On blockchain development, Huang expects cryptocurrencies and crypto mining to stay.

Huang expects the Omniverse economy or metaverse, to be bigger than that of the physical world, with virtual reality gaining traction.

On the pressing question of China regulating Nvidia’s efforts in artificial intelligence, Huang is optimistic of a positive working relation with the state, including those others it operates.

Huang sees augmented reality as an important technology, and also expects graphics processing to be the largest opportunity in the IT industry.
