(Eurostat) Industrial production showed stagnation in the EU and the euro area in January, rising by only 0.4% in the former and held stable in the latter.
In the last month of 2021, industrial production had improved by a higher 1.0% in the EU and 1. 3% in the euro area.
Compared to January 2021, industrial production improved by 0.4% in the EU and declined by 1.3% in the euro area.
In the euro area, industrial production rose the highest in non-durable consumer goods at 3.1%, followed by capital goods at 2.4%. In the EU, non-durable goods also rose the highest by 3.0%, while capital goods came second with a gain of 1.9%.
Industrial production rose the highest, on a monthly basis, in Austria with a gain of 6.2%, followed by Czechia and Poland at 3.1% and 3.0%, respectively. The declines were noted the highest in Estonia at -6.1%, Portugal and Greece at -5.0% and -4.1%, respectively.DAX is down -0.97%, EURUSD is up +0.50%
