US Consumer Prices Mark a Monthly 0.8% Increase in November

US consumer prices ticked higher by 0.8% in November, after another gain of 0.9% the previous month. SPY is up +0.61%, DXY is down -0.04%.

  • The energy index jumped 3.5% in November, while the gasoline index was up 6.1%
  • Food prices rose, with the index up 0.7%, while the gauge for food at home increased by 0.8%.
  • Less food and energy, the consumer prices rose by 0.5% in November, down compared to a 0.6% increase the previous month.
  • For the 12 months that ended October, the Consumer Prices Index rose by 6.8%, the highest increase since the June 1982 period. The index was up 4.9% less food and energy in the same period.
