Futu Doubles Paying Clients in Q2 to Record a 125.8% Jump in Net Income

(Futu Holdings) Futu Holdings Limited announced a 125.8% jump in net income to HK$533.9 million or US$68.7 million in the second quarter, compared to the same period in 2020, which is slower compared to the first quarter.  

The company’s net profit for the first six months of the year closed at HK$1.7 billion or US$218 million, in comparison to HK$391.3 million reported in the corresponding period last year.

Futu’s net revenue jumped to HK$1.6 billion or US$ 203.0 million in the second quarter, from HK$687.6 million in the second quarter of last year.

The company’s revenue increased to HK$3.8 billion or US$486 million in the first half of the year, compared to HK$1.2 billion reported in the same period of the prior year.

Futu reached the 1 million paying clients mark at the close of the quarter, a 230.2% growth in contrast to last year.

The company had the second-highest ever-recorded growth of paying clients at 211,000 in the second quarter of 2021.
