Barrick’s Revenue Plummets to $2.9 Billion in Q2 Amid a Positive Business Outlook

(Barrick) Barrick Gold Corporation announced revenue of $2.9 billion in the second quarter of 2021, a decline from $3.1 billion reported in the same period last year.

Barrick’s net earnings in the second quarter rose to $411 million from $357 million reported in the same period of last year.

The company announced a dividend per share of $ 0.09 in the second quarter of the year, an increase from $0.08 in the same period of 2020.

A $750 million return of capital was approved by the company’s shareholders during an AGM, an equivalent of $0.42 per share.

The first tranche of $250 million was paid in June, an equivalent amount is to be paid in September, and the rest will be released towards the end of the year.

Barrick’s largest mining production in the second quarter was the Gold Operating segment at 1041 koz, down from a production of 1,149 koz in the same period last year.
