(AT&T) AT&T Inc. reported a net income of $5.9 billion in the third quarter of 2021, an increase compared to $2.8 billion in the same period of last year.
The telecommunication company increased the diluted earnings per common share in the third quarter to $0.82 from $0.39 in the same quarter of 2020.
AT&T revenue dropped to $39.9 billion in the third quarter from $42.3 billion in the same quarter of last year. The company has attributed the drop to the separation from the U.S. video business and low wireless revenue.
AT&T had an operating income of $7.1 billion compared to $6.1 billion in the corresponding period of last year.
AT&T expects that its full-year adjusted earnings per share will be at the high end of the low to mid-single-digit growth range.
The company is also forecasting to increase its HBO Max or HBO global subscribers to between 70-73 million from the current 69.4 million subscribers.
