Apple’s Revenue Jumps 29% In Q4. Sales Miss Expectations

(Apple) Apple Inc. announced an increase in revenue to $ 83.4 billion in the fourth quarter of the 2021 fiscal year from $64.7 billion reported in the same period of last year.

The net revenue for the full year 2021 increased to $365.8 billion from $274.5 billion in the twelve months to September last year.

The company’s net income rose to $20.6 billion in the quarter, from $12.7 billion in the corresponding quarter of last year. FY21 income increased to $94.7 billion from $57.4 billion in the prior year.

The company’s diluted earnings per share increased to $1.24 in the fourth quarter from $0.73 reported in the same period of last year. FY21 EPS increased to $5.61 from $3.28 reported in the prior year.

Apple declared a $0.22 cash dividend per share of the common stock. The dividend will be paid on November 11 to shareholders in the record as at the close of November 8.

However, the company missed sales expectations. The company CEO Tim Cook said, “We had very strong performance despite larger than expected supply constraints, which we estimate to be around $6 billion.”

AAPL: NASDAQ is down -3.39% on pre-market.
