US Private Sector Adds 568,000 Jobs in September

(ADP) Total private sector employment in the US gained by 568,000 from August to September, underlining labor market recoveries constrained by the challenges of hiring.

Large businesses added the most jobs at 390,000. Medium businesses contributed 115,000 jobs, while small businesses posted 63,000 job gains.

By sector, service-providing businesses contributed the highest jobs at 466,000.  Goods-producing businesses added 102,000 jobs, while franchise jobs come only at 25,800.

ADP chief economist Nela Richardson sees the hiring trajectory, especially by small firms curtailed by the pandemic but expects challenges of hiring to subside once the Covid situation improves.
