US Crude Oil Stockpiles Decline by 2.5M Barrels

(EIA) US crude oil inventories fell by 2.5 million barrels in the week that ended March 18 to 413.4 million barrels.

The total motor gasoline inventories declined by 2.9 million barrels, while distillate fuel stockpiles were down by 2.1 million barrels to a level 17% below the five-year average.

The crude imports averaged 6.5 million barrels per day in the week to March 18, an increase of 92,000 bpd from the previous week. The crude imports were at an average of 6.2 million bpd over the past four weeks, up 9.1% from the comparable period of last year.

The crude oil refinery inputs were at an average of 15.9 million bpd, an increase of 276,000 bpd from the prior week, with refineries operating at 91.1% capacity.

Overall, the total products supplied in the past four weeks were at an average of 21.0 million bpd, an increase of 11.7% from the comparable period of last year.
