US Crude Inventories Decline by 4.6 Barrels as Imports, Refinery Inputs Fall

(EIA) Commercial crude oil inventories in the US were at 428.3 million barrels in the week that ended December 10, a decline of 4.6 million barrels from the previous week.

Crude imports to the US also fell in the week, with the levels averaging 6.5 million bpd, 28,000 below the previous week. The imports averaged 6.5 million bpd in the past four weeks, which was 15.4% above the same period last year.

Total oil refinery inputs declined by 115,000 bpd to a lower 15.7 million bpd, with refineries operating at 89.8% capacity.

Overall, about 21.3 million bpd were supplied in the last four weeks, an increase of 12.6% from the prior year.
