U.S Department of Commerce found that Vietnam exporters obtained countervailable subsidies, according to press release. The commerce department determined company-specific countervailing duty rates that ranged from 6.23% and 7.89% for the Vietnamese.
The investigations also involve antidumping duty investigations relating to passenger vehicle and light truck tires from Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The commerce department investigations showed exporters dumped PVLT in the U.S at a rate of 14.72-27.05% for South Korea.
Exporters dumped PVLT in the U.S at a rate of 20.04-101.84% for Taiwan.
Exporters dumped PVLT in the U.S at a rate of 14.62-21.09% for Thailand.
Exporters dumped PVLT in the U.S at a rate of 0.00-22.30% for Vietnam.
The determinations are set to enter the final stage on or about 5th July this year in which the U.S international Trade Commission is expected to make a verdict.
The U.S imported PVLT’s at a value of about $1.2 billion from South Korea, $373 million from Taiwan, $2 billion from Thailand, and $470 million from Vietnam in 2020.
