(WSJ) Tesla CEO Elon Musk feels the US electric vehicle industry does not need state support for the charging infrastructure.
Musk, who says he would delete the proposed support for gas stations, says the industry does not need a bill to incentivize purchases of battery-powered cars.
The Tesla CEO softened his stance on China, saying the EV maker has a good relationship with Beijing. He says a lot of Chinese officials have “kind of grown up.”
Musk says China would soon be a “big kid on the block,” saying that recent aims against the country relates to perceptions of it being a small economy.
Musk’s comments come even as China remains the home to Tesla’s largest production factory.
The views by the Tesla CEO come after US president Joe Biden signed a social spending bill that allocates $7.5 billion to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
