Nio Gives “Employee-Only” NFTs Amid Previous Hard Stance on Crypto

(Cnevpost) Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio is giving its workers NFTs in its first move indulging in cryptocurrencies.

Nio will distribute both digital and physical copies of the NFTs via a lottery.

The award of the employee-only NFTs is a change of stance by the Nio, which previously said it was “not involved” in digital assets.

The EV maker gives its employees a brooch each year to mark the growth of the company, with the use of the NFTs accomplishing the tradition in an award-themed “Hello Norway” this year.

The inroads into NFTs happen amid China’s ban on crypto trading, with Nio’s brooch seen as a collectible for internal use.

NIO: NYSE is down -2.53%.
