Nikola Stock Jumps 16% After Starting Production of Electric Truck

(Reuters) Shares of Nikola Corp. gained more than 16% on Thursday in premarket trading on news the company had started manufacturing electric trucks.

Nikola said that it initiated production of its Tre battery electric vehicle at its Coolidge facility in Arizona on March 21.

The company said it would start manufacturing the Tre BEV truck for the European market at its Germany factory in June next year. Nikola expects to deliver around 300 to 500 Tre BEV semi-trucks this year.
