Crude Inventories Surge by 4.4M bpd as Refinery Inputs Also Jump

(EIA) US crude oil inventories rose by 4.3 million barrels in the week ending October 22 to average 430.8 million barrels. 

Crude oil refinery inputs surged by 58,000 bpd to an average of 15.0 million bpd, as refineries operated at 85.1% capacity.

Gasoline production rose to an average of 10.1 million bpd, while distillate fuel production also ticked higher to an average of 4.6 million bpd.

Crude imports rose by 430,000 bpd to 6.3 million bpd. The imports averaged 6.3 million bpd in the past four weeks, up 15.2% from the prior year.

Over the past four weeks, the average total product supplied was 20.8 million bpd, a gain of 9.9% from the prior year.
