Netflix Reaps Big on Paid Membership to Report a 19% Revenue Growth in Q2

(Netflix) Netflix’s total revenue jumped to $7.3 billion in the second quarter, an increase of 19% year over year boosted by a rise in paid streaming membership.

Netflix recorded an 11% addition in average paid membership and an 8% rise in the average revenue per membership.

The operating margin rose to 25.2% in Q2 of 2021, a 3-percentage point increase compared to 22.1% reported in Q2 of 2020.

Netflix increased its paid membership in the quarter by 1.5 million against a forecast of 1 million, with the APAC region representing two-thirds of the addition.

The company reported a net income of $1.353 billion, up from $720 million achieved in Q2 of 2020.

Netflix had, as of the end of Q2, 209 million in paid membership.
