U.S. Futures and European Stocks Show Positive Momentum
U.S. Futures
U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average remained flat at the opening. It’s important to note that changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
European Stocks
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 displayed a gain of 0.1% in morning trading. Notable performances include Flutter Entertainment, which climbed 9.6%, and Viaplay Group Series B, which rose 9.2%. On the other hand, EQT dropped 3.6%, and HelloFresh saw a decline of 3.2%. The FTSE 100, however, remained flat. Furthermore, other stocks in Europe showed upward movement as France’s CAC 40 increased by 0.2% and Germany’s DAX rose by 0.1%.
Currency Trends
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index recorded a slight decrease of 0.1%, resting at 97.94.
Commodity Update
In commodity markets, Brent crude experienced a rise of 0.2%, reaching $78.00 per barrel, while WTI crude showed a gain of 0.5%, reaching $72.89 per barrel.
Bond Yields
The German 10-year Bund yield remained steady at 2.318%. In contrast, the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 2 basis points from 4.109% to 4.087%. It is important to remember that bond prices and yields move in opposition to each other.
Asian Market Overview
Stocks in Asia had mixed performance levels as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index remained flat, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng experienced a gain of 0.8%. Additionally, China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite demonstrated an increase of 0.4%.
