Manufacturing Index in June Rose the Fastest Since 2007 as Economy Reopens

(IHS Markit) U.S. June Manufacturing Index Increased the fastest since 2007 from 62.1 to 62.6 as restrictions were lifted.

The increased index was also due to a recovering domestic economy.

The IHS Markit flash manufacturing index rose for four consecutive months to 62.6 from 62.1 in May.

Services measure fell to 64.8 to remain close to record levels.

Factories are still finding it hard to match demand due to supply delays and increased input costs and hiring difficulties.

Service providers recorded continued growth in costs and prices charged signaling inflation tension spreading across the economy.

The quick rise in material costs could reduce corporate gains forcing manufacturers to increase consumer prices.

Time taken to deliver supplies to factories prolonged to record highs.

SPY is up 0.071%, EURUSD is down 0.10%.
