(Markets Insider) An investor reportedly made about $5.7 billion after buying $8,000 worth of Shiba Inu coins immediately after its debut.
The trades started in August 2020, with the investor purchasing about 70 trillion Shiba Inu coins. Shiba Inu was trading at $0.000000000189 at the time the investor’s investment reached $8,000.
Since the purchase, the investment has gained by more than 7 million percent, with the investor continuing to hold. The trade has been regarded as the greatest individual gain of all time.
The investor now owns at least 14% of the total Shiba Inu coins in circulation. Shiba Inu reached a market cap of almost $45 billion following the recent surge and is the ninth most valuable cryptocurrency.
