GM and Honda Partner to Develop Affordable EVs for Popular Vehicle Segments

(General Motors) Automakers General Motors and Honda will co-develop a series of affordable electric vehicles that will target the most popular vehicle segments globally.

The companies will share their technology, design, and manufacturing strategies for the intended EVs that will be marketed on a global scale.

Production for the EVs, which are expected in millions, will begin in 2027. The EVs include compact crossover vehicles.

GM and Honda will also discuss future EV battery technology partnerships to reduce the cost of electrification and enhance the performance and sustainability of future mobility solutions. 

GM chair and CEO Mary Barra says the partnership is a key step in delivering its commitment to carbon neutrality in operations and products by 2040. 

GM: NYSE is up +1.64% on premarket, HMC: NYSE is down -0.84% on premarket.
