(Fastly) U.S-based cloud provider Fastly fell as much as 5% on pre-market on Tuesday following widespread CDN outages. It affected several news outlets websites that included The New York Times, CNN, Financial Times, BBC, PayPal, Reddit, Shopify, and Stripe.
Several government websites, including U. K’s gov.uk were affected. Some websites resumed after the outages that persisted to around an hour.
Fastly recognized degraded performance and error messages in its coverage areas. Company announced that the issue has been rectified, but customers could experience origin load challenges as services resumed.
Fastly has termed the problem a global CDN disruption affecting the entity’s network worldwide.
