Facebook Updates Forecast as Revenue Climbs 33% in Q3 2021

(Facebook) Facebook Inc. reported revenue of $29.010 billion in the third quarter of 2021, up 33% from the prior year.

A net income of $9.194 billion was reported in the third quarter, up 17% from the previous year. Diluted earnings per share was $3.22, up 19% year over year.

Facebook reached 1.93 billion daily active users in the third quarter, an increase of 6% from the prior year. Monthly active users were 2.91 billion, up 6% year over year. 

Family daily active people were 2.81 billion, a gain of 11% year over year. Family monthly active people were 3.58 billion, a gain of 12% year over year. 

Facebook repurchased $14.37 billion of Class A common stock and announced a $50 billion increase in share repurchase. 

The company now expects fourth-quarter revenue to range between $31.5 billion and $34 billion. The outlook reflects headwinds from Apple’s operating system changes, macroeconomic forces, and Covid-19 concerns.
