Every Squid Game Player In Season 3, Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win The Games

Squid Game Season 3’s Most Exciting Game Has Already Been Revealed

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Squid Game season 2.

Squid Game season 2 raises the stakes for Gi-hun and the remaining survivors of the games ahead of the end of the show, but it also leaves just a handful of candidates that could win the games. The entire premise of Squid Game revolves around 456 individuals being dropped into an arena where they have the potential to win big money, or die brutally while playing a series of playground games. In each game, the number of players was cut down significantly. Until now, there are only a few players left to play and try to claim the prize money.

In the final episode of Squid Game season 2, a fight between the O’s and the X’s results in a total of five deaths. However, when the players realize deaths outside the games add to the prize pot, the O’s decide to attack the X’s in the night. Gi-hun sees this coming, and uses the moment when the Pink Guards come to clean up to begin his attack on the people in charge. However, by the end of the episode, many more X’s have been killed, leaving just a few of the main characters left to potentially win the games. But not all of their chances for success are equal.

11 100 – Im Jeong-dae

Coming in last place for his odds of winning the games, Im Jeong-dae, also known as player 100, is an elderly man who owes more than 10 billion won in debt. Despite the incredible sum owed, 100 is also the most greedy, and appears to be someone who has lived comfortably his entire life. While he declares that he only wants to get the money to help pay his debts, 100’s intentions appear more shady and cruel.

Cho Hyun-ju is the standout character of Squid Game season 2 as she consistently steals the show with her compassion, bravery, and skill.

Posts

He has no remorse for the lives and losses of others. He is quick to push, bully, and put down others. And overall, he would be the least satisfying person to have winning the games. He also relies on the help and support of others, as soon as it comes to a physical brawl where 100 needs to fight, he will likely fall apart.

10 144 – Seon-nyeo

Seon-nyeo has had a complicated experience in the Squid Game series. As a washed-up shaman woman, she was once highly regarded, but over time, her career has declined to such a point that people now see her as a raving lunatic, and she no longer has funds to support herself. However, Seon-nyeo does appear to have some genuine gift of insight which allows her to read and predict others’ actions.

Despite this, she is also quick to change sides, and appears to predict her own demise. Knowing that she will not win the games, Seon-nyeo will likely embrace death willingly when it comes, but until then, she is playing to win. This puts her just above people like Jeong-dae, but still behind many others.

9 149 – Jang Geum-ja

Jang Geum-ja is the mother of Park Yong-sik. Her primary reason for joining the games was to help pay off her son’s debts, but now that the pair are in the games together, their relationship has been tested. Geum-ja and Yong-sik have also had multiple life-threatening situations which have caused them to struggle and recognize more of what they hold dear.

The Front Man’s true plan in Squid Game season 2 is mysterious, with many wondering why he intentionally failed the Spinning Top – but here’s why.

Posts

Due to Geum-ja’s old age, it appears unlikely that she will be able to survive to the very end. However, with the aid of her son, she stands a good chance of completing the next round. Ultimately, though, now that so many O’s have survived and the X’s have largely been exterminated, it appears unlikely that the next round will be the last.

8 007 – Park Yong-sik

Park Yong-sik is the son of Geum-ja, and a player who has changed a lot in just a few episodes. Initially, Yong-sik proved how much he loves his mother in the Red Light, Green Light game when he pushed her behind him to keep her safe. However, in Mingle, Yong-sik was dragged away to safety by two other players, and he put up very little resistance to go back and protect his mother, leaving her to possibly be killed.

Yong-sik also wanted to step forward and fight with Gi-hun when the uprising happened, but due to his mother’s influence, he did not. Yong-sik is large, and physically strong, but with his attachment to his mother, and his hesitation to act on things that are right, he is unlikely to be crowned victorious. Instead, Yong-sik may develop further in Squid Game season 3, but it seems likely that he and his mother will perish in the games.

7 388 – Kang Dae-ho

Kang Dae-ho inserted himself into the group that includes Gi-hun, Oh Young-il, and Jung-bae. Dae-ho has repeatedly stated that he was a former army official, and since Jung-bae also served in the military, Dae-ho serves under him fulfilling his requests and orders. However, when Dae-ho participates in the uprising with Gi-hun and the others, he struggles with being involved in a firefight.

Lee Byung-hun discusses the Front Man’s intentions in joining the game in Squid Game season 2, analyzing the character’s reactions to the games.

Posts 1

Dae-ho is assigned to return to the main room and get more ammo for those fighting on the front line, and he ends up retreating after what appears to be a PTSD episode. This does not bode well for his future in the games, as when things get tense, Dae-ho is not able to remain calm and in control. As a result, Dae-ho is likely to be overpowered and defeated in other games, despite his strength and skill.

6 125 – Park Min-su

Park Min-su is a seemingly timid young man who forms an uneasy alliance with players like Thanos, and Nam-gyu. While he disagreed with their outlooks and voting, Min-su wanted the protection they offered, and when an opportunity to go with Se-mi during Mingle arose, he betrayed her in order to ensure his survival by pairing up with Nam-gyu and Thanos.

From this point onward, Min-su appeared to be more like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, ready to double-cross trusted allies, and serve his own ends. It may not be kind or good, but this kind of ruthlessness has the potential to go far in competition like these death games. Min-su may not be the ultimate winner, but he could progress through the next round.

5 124 – Nam-gyu

Nam-gyu was already a friend of the rapper, Thanos, before they entered the games. Within the games, Nam-gyu and Thanos stood out as two of the most vocal and pushy characters in the games. They used their voice and influence to try and push other characters to align with them, and vote for the games to continue. This ruthless behavior helped them to stay on top for a long time.

Related Did Squid Game season 2 stick the landing?

Squid Game will return in 2025 for its third and final season. I thought the end of Squid Game season 2 set that up nicely. Gi-hun is in a dark place, having repeatedly failed to stop the games. His revolution led to many deaths, including that of his best friend. The season 2 finale was filled with death and tension, making for a dark and emotional episode that should set up a whole lot of guilt for Gi-hun in the Netflix series’ final season.

However, with Thanos having been killed, Nam-gyu is now on his own as far as his closest alliance is concerned. He still stands with the O’s which means he has more people on his side, but things are likely to get messy. After Thanos is killed, Nam-gyu brutally murders Se-mi in the attack against the X’s, and this shows that he is still pushing towards a victory, even if Thanos is dead.

4 333 – Lee Myeong-gi

Lee Myeong-gi has only had brief glimpses of his character and story revealed, as far as his connections to others are concerned. Myeong-gi was a large social media influencer who had a following online that included Thanos and Nam-gyu. He recommended stocks and cryptocurrencies for his followers to trade, but a major crash in one of his recommended investments resulted in many people losing vast sums of money.

Myeong-gi is also the father of Kim Jun-hee’s unborn child. With so much on the line, and a willingness to make tough decisions like closing the door in Mingle before the timer ran out, Myeong-gi has a survivor’s instinct. He also appears to be committed to getting Jun-hee out with him, which could see him survive and break free, or lay down his life for Jun-hee.

3 222 – Kim Jun-hee

Kim Jun-hee is a heavily pregnant young woman whose impaired condition has left her in a complicated position during the games. Despite this, she has managed to overcome and succeed in each trial. While her pregnancy may impact her individual performance, it has also made other players like Hyun-ju, Geum-ja, and Myeong-gi more mindful of her vulnerabilities. Each of these players has stepped in to help and assist her at times, and this will likely continue.

Squid Game season 2’s mid-credits scene teases the first game of season 3, and according to the show’s creator, it is the season’s most exciting one.

Jun-hee is also intelligent, skilled, and surprisingly agile despite her late stage of pregnancy. Jun-hee stands out as a potential winner of the games if those she is fighting are willing to go easy, or sacrifice themselves for her. But she could also prove herself as the underdog and overcome opponents that underestimate her.

2 456 – Seong Gi-hun

Seong Gi-hun won a previous round of the games, fighting against friends and rivals to ultimately come out victorious. Despite this, Gi-hun values the lives of others more than the money that he could win. At the end of the last games he participated in, he wished to leave the game with his former ally, despite the pair losing the money, but instead, his friend sacrificed himself after he was bested in a fight.

Gi-hun has the skills, power, and intelligence required to win, but he has other motivations that come higher. Instead of winning, Gi-hun wants to destroy the games, and take down the corrupt leaders and VIPs who make the games a reality. He could win, but he is more likely to sacrifice himself, or try and find other ways to break free from the games.

1 120 – Cho Hyun-ju

Cho Hyun-ju found herself in a difficult position after transitioning. In her early life, Hyun-ju served in the military, and appears to have enjoyed close relationships with her friends and family. However, after transitioning, Hyun-ju was rejected and treated cruelly by those who formerly claimed to care about her. As a result, she was left largely destitute, and in need of money to start over.

001, aka Oh Young-il, is still alive, but considering this is the Front Man, Hwang In-ho, in disguise, and he has resumed his duties outside the games, he will likely stop participating. Otherwise, his odds of winning are incredibly high due to his police background, previous win in the 28th games, and his ruthlessness in competing.

Hyun-ju stands out as one of the most strong, intelligent, and creative characters in Squid Game season 2. She appears to be able to form close alliances, stand up to bullies, and overpower enemies. All of this combines to make her a formidable contender, and someone who has an incredibly high chance of succeeding and winning the games if they continue to the final rounds.
