(Eurostat) Euro area unemployment was at 7.2% in November, below 7.3% posted the previous month. The unemployment rate was also below 8.1% in the prior year.
In the EU, unemployment was down to 6.5% in November, from 6.7% in the previous month and 7.4% in the prior year.
Youth unemployment fell to 15.4% in the EU in November, from 15.6% the previous month. In the euro area, unemployment fell to 15.5%, from 15.8% in the same period.
Across gender, women’s unemployment rate fell to 6.8% in the EU in November, from 7.0% the previous month. The rate was down to 7.5% in the euro area from 7.7% in October.
Men’s unemployment fell to 6.3% in November in the EU, from 6.4% in October. The rate was down to 6.9% from 7.0% in the euro area in the same period.
