German renewable-energy company, Encavis, has announced its commitment to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the upcoming years. With a determined objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, Encavis aims to eliminate all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by the end of this decade.
Encavis plans to make all its vehicles fully electric and ensure that the electricity consumed in its offices and plants is sourced from renewable energy. By doing so, the company aims to eradicate emissions resulting from direct operations and energy purchases.
Furthermore, Encavis intends to address Scope 3 emissions, which currently account for a significant 99% of its total emissions. These emissions are generated in the supply chain and through the use of its products. To tackle this challenge, Encavis plans to replace fossil fuels in production processes wherever possible. Additionally, the company aims to increase the use of recycled materials and low-emission transport.
By implementing these strategies, Encavis ambitiously aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions by an impressive 95% by 2040.
It is inspiring to witness companies like Encavis taking proactive steps towards achieving a sustainable future. Through their commitment to renewable energy sources and emission reduction practices, they set an example for others to follow in the transition to a greener world.
