ECB is moving closer to lift the ban on dividends, LSE picks Euronext’s bid, and CaixaBank and Bankia make the deal to form the biggest bank of Spain.

  • European regulator is moving closer to freeze the dividend payments for bankers. The Stoxx Bank Index drops to -1.6%, but recovers. 
  • U.S. Department of Commerce announced to block the downloads of TikTok and WeChat from 20th Sep. However, current users will be able to use the apps, but updates won’t be installed. 
  • CaixaBank and Bankia make announce the merger and the newly formed Spanish masthodon lender will have assets of more than 664 billion euros.
