(CoinTelegraph) E-commerce giant eBay is set to integrate cryptocurrency payments soon.
The internet marketplace firm is one of the oldest e-commerce platforms seeking to become the go-to platform for Gen Z and Millennials.
In an interview with The Street, Jamie Iannone, CEO of eBay, stated that the firm has been considering integrating crypto payment options for a while now, and an official announcement will be made on March 10.
Iannone disclosed that the e-commerce giant is looking to shift to new payments modes as they are already managing $85 billion of volume on its site directly.
Commenting about eBay’s position on emerging technology, Iannone pointed to the growth of popularity of nonfungible tokens trading on its platform.
Iannone stated that the company adjusted its policies last year to make the e-commerce platform a place for purchasing and selling anything.
The growth in popularity and demand for cryptocurrencies has led to a number of online platforms and crypto payment options.
