(Banking.senate.gov) US Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler is expected to discuss the regulator’s oversight role on Tuesday, with cryptocurrencies top of the agenda.
The Senate Banking Committee is expected to grill Gensler on bitcoin and other digital assets including stablecoins.
Gensler is likely to mention the lack of investor protection in crypto markets. He is expected to mention the issues of scams, fraud, and abuses prevalent in certain applications.
Gensler’s remarks before the Senate committee are expected to start at 10 a.m. ET.
