The Chinese military has banned Tesla Inc.’s cars from military complexes and housing compounds, according to Reuters. The ban follows concerns about sensitive data being collected by cameras built into the vehicles.
The order requires Tesla owners to park their cars outside of the military property.
The ban was brought down to the residents of military housing this week.
It remains unclear whether the ban applies to all military compounds.
The ban comes about a week after hackers breached security-camera data collected by Silicon Valley startup Verkada Inc. gaining access to several footages, including those of Tesla.Tesla stock is currently gaining. TSLA: NASDAQ is up 0.71% on premarket.
