Ford’s Retail Sales in the US Jump by a Monthly 34.3% Rate in September

(Ford) Ford automobile retail sales rose by 34.3% in September from August, taking its total sales in the US to 156,614. The sales reflected revamped production and inventory in August, which paid off in September. 

The 156,614 total US sales was still 17.7% lower than September 2020. The retail sales were 20.8% lower than in September 2020.

The September sales comprised 83,554 trucks, 70,260 SUVs, and 2,800 cars. 52,000 new vehicle orders were placed in September.

Year-to-date sales totaled 1,397,504 vehicles, a decline of 7.0% from the comparable period of 2020.

Ford now heads into October with a gross stock of 236,000, a jump of 21,000 vehicles from the start of September.
