(Twitter) The largest NFT collection by market cap Bored Ape Yacht Club said that its discord server was hacked through a phishing attack.
BAYC said the hackers gained access to the official Discord, which also hosts the Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Kennel Club, as well as three NFT collections from Yuga Labs.
The hacker posted a phishing link in the Mutant Ape Kennel Club channel, disguised as “stealth NFT mint.”
The team said that it had caught the issue immediately, although it cautioned users to discontinue any NFT minting using a link posted on its discord.
The unknown hacker is reportedly said to have committed the attack via Ticket Tool, which is a popular Discord bot for automatic generation of tickets.
The latest attack happens after another newly created NFT collection Rare Bears was exploited, with over $780,000 worth of assets exploited.
