(Cointelegraph) Binance is partnering with a consortium led by PT Telkom Indonesia’s venture capital arm MDI Ventures for new digital asset exchange.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao says the partnership for the new exchange is a step towards establishing a crypto ecosystem throughout the world and popularizing blockchain technology.
The agreement with MDI also seeks to increase the adoption of blockchain in Indonesia, with Binance expected to offer infrastructure and technology, and asset management.
The partnership broadens Binance operations in Indonesia, with the crypto exchange already having a stake in trading platform Tokocrypto.
MDI Ventures has a global portfolio running up to $830 million. The investment in the technology investment firm marks another Binance inroad into Asia, having acquired an 18% holding in Hg Exchange recently.
