American Airlines Posts a Pandemic-Record Revenue of $9.43B in Q4 2021

(American Airlines) American Airlines Group recorded a revenue of $9.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, a record since the pandemic started and more than the forecast $9.38 billion.

The company’s fourth-quarter net loss was posted at $931 million or adjusted -$1.42 per share, better than the projected -$1.48 per share and the prior year’s loss per share of -$3.86.

In FY21, American Airlines reported a net loss of $2.0 billion or -$3.09 per share.

The company reported that it ended with a record total available liquidity of $15.8 billion in the fourth quarter.

American Airlines now expects its revenue in the first quarter of 2022 to be off 20% to 22% from the 2019 levels when it reported about $10.6 billion in sales. The company expects capacity for the quarter to be 90% to 92%.
