XRP sees major surge, trading at US$2.57 with market cap reaching US$147 billion

12th January 2025 – (New York) XRP experienced a notable increase in value on Saturday, trading at $2.5735 by 16:49 local time, marking a rise of 10.06% for the day — the largest single-day percentage gain since 1st January.

This upward movement has elevated XRP’s market capitalisation to $147.225 billion, accounting for 4.42% of the overall cryptocurrency market cap. Previously, XRP’s market cap peaked at $155.2807 billion.

In the past 24 hours, XRP has fluctuated between $2.3261 and $2.5936. Over the past week, XRP has appreciated by 5.3%, with a trading volume of $7.2483 billion, representing 10.05% of the total cryptocurrency trading volume. During this week, it has traded within a range of $2.2049 to $2.5936.

Despite this recent surge, XRP remains down 21.78% from its all-time high of $3.29, reached on January 4, 2018.

In the broader cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin was trading at $94,891.8, reflecting a modest increase of 0.29%. Ethereum was also up, trading at $3,310.62, a rise of 1.38%. Bitcoin’s market cap stood at $1,874.3223 billion, holding 56.32% of the total cryptocurrency market, while Ethereum’s market cap was $398.1129 billion, representing 11.96% of the overall market value.
