(Coindesk) Walmart is testing a program in which shoppers at some of its U.S. stores can buy Bitcoin at Coinstar kiosks.
The pilot program reportedly started earlier this month and includes 200 kiosks hosted in Walmart stores.
The deal with Walmart is part of Coinstar’s broader initiative as it also joined with crypto-cash exchange Coinme to offer Bitcoin at its over 8,000 kiosks.
Walmart’s inroad into crypto adds further legitimacy to Bitcoin use, with a potential rollout by the retailer enhancing access to the world’s largest cryptocurrency.
Walmart advertised a crypto development job in August as it explores new partnerships and crypto-related investments.
