Vince McMahon appeared in court to answer charges of reckless driving, and essentially walked away with a win. As you may recall, the former WWE Chairman was involved in a car accident back in late July when his Bentley struck a BMW. McMahon earned a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely for the incident.
However, the New Haven Register reports that during his court appearance on Thursday, McMahon scored a win against the charges. The judge granted McMahon entry into a pretrial probationary program. The program lasts a year and if McMahon can drive lawfully during that time, as well as make a $1,000 charitable contribution, the charges will be dismissed against him.
McMahon appeared in court but did not speak. His lawyer Mark Sherman told TMZ Sports, “It was good news. Not every car accident is a crime and the judge agreed he deserved this dismissal and we’re grateful for that.”
The former WWE boss signed autographs upon arriving for a small number of fans. You can see that video below per Connecticut reporter Marissa Alter.
McMahon is staying largely out of the public eye since he exited WWE and TKO due to the lawsuit filed against him by Janel Grant alleging sexual trafficking, assault, and abuse. He celebrated his 80th birthday in August at a party attended by a number of WWE stars incluing John Cena, Kane, Ron Killings, and more.
