(Reuters) -The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit against Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, a Thursday court filing shows.

A joint stipulation of dismissal signed by lawyers for the SEC, Binance and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao was filed in the Washington, D.C., federal court.

The SEC had accused the defendants in 2023 of artificially inflating trading volumes, diverting customer funds, failing to restrict U.S. customers from Binance’s platform, and misleading investors about its market surveillance controls.

It also accused Binance of unlawfully facilitating trading of several tokens that prior SEC leadership deemed unregistered securities.
