US Retail Sales Jump by 0.3% In November but Miss Estimates

(Census Bureau) The volume of retail and food services sales in the US reached $639.8 billion in November, up 0.3% from the previous month. The gain was below the expected jump of 0.8%.

Retail trade sales rose 0.2% from October, remaining 16.1% above the last year.

Compared to November 2020, retail sales were up 18.2%. 

Gasoline sales posted a 52.3% annual increase, while food services and drinking places rose by 37.4% in the same period. 

Sales from September 2021 to November 2021 increased by 16.2% compared to the same period last year.
