(ADP Employment) A total of 455,000 jobs were created in the US private sector in March, underlining robust labor recoveries in the year.
The bulk of the job additions in March came from medium businesses, which injected 188,000 positions.
Large businesses added 177,000 jobs, while small businesses generated the fewest jobs at 90,000.
The service sector maintained robust recoveries from the slowdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic to add the most jobs in March at 377,000.
Goods-producing firms generated 79,000 jobs, while franchise-related firms added 11,200 positions.
ADP chief economist, Nela Richardson, said that the labor market recoveries were broad-based, with almost 1.5 million jobs so far generated in the first quarter of the year. He still warns of tight labor market supply, especially in the consumer-facing industries.
