US Crude Stockpiles Plunged by 2.6M Barrels Last Week

(EIA) US inventories of commercial crude oil were 413.4 million barrels in the week that ended February 25, down by 2.6 million barrels from the previous week. 

Inventories of motor gasoline edged lower by 0.5 million barrels, while distillate fuel inventories fell by 0.6 million barrels. 

The declining inventories occurred even as the total crude imports to the US fell by 1.1 million barrels per day, to an average of 5.8 million bpd. The crude imports were at an average of 6.2 million bpd in the last four weeks, up 9.4% from the prior year.

Total crude refinery inputs edged higher by 153,000 bpd to an average of 15.4 in the week that ended February 25. 

Overall, the total products supplied in the last four weeks averaged 21.7 million bpd, reflecting an increase of 11.0% from the comparable period of last year.
