US Crude Refinery Inputs Surge by 67,000 bpd as Inventories Rise

(EIA) The total crude refinery inputs in the US in the week that ended September 24 was 15.4 million barrels per day, up by 67,000 bpd from the previous week.

Refineries posted an 88.1% operation capacity, with gasoline production averaging 9.9 million bpd. Distillate fuel production rose to an average of 4.6 million bpd.

Imports of crude oil averaged 6.6 million bpd, a gain of 87,000 bpd from the previous week. The imports averaged 6.1 million bpd in the past four weeks, up 18.7% from the prior year.

Commercial crude inventories posted a 4.6 million bpd increase to reach 418.5 million barrels, 7% below a five-year average.

Overall, the total products supplied in the US over the past month averaged 20.4 million bpd, a gain of 13.7% from the same period of last year.
