US Crude Oil Inventories Rise by 6.1M Barrels in the First Week of October

(EIA) The US recorded 427.0 million barrels of crude inventories in the week that ended October 8, up by 6.1 million barrels from the previous week. The inventories are now about 6% below its five-year average.

Average crude oil refinery inputs were 15.1 million bpd, a decline of 0.7 million bpd from the previous week. Refineries had an operating capacity of 86.7%.

The overall imports of crude oil by the US averaged 6.0 million bpd, a decline of 1.0 million bpd from the previous week. The imports over a four-week period averaged 6.5 million bpd, up 22.2% from the prior year.

About 20.7 million bpd of total crude products were supplied over the last four weeks, up by 12.5% from the prior year.
