US Airforce Joins the Metaverse Craze With a Trademark Application

(Twitter) The US Air Force has filed a trademark application to create its own metaverse called the SPACEVERSE.

The application, filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office, seeks a metaverse that allows the convergence of the terrestrial and space physical and digital realities.

The application also mentions a need to offer synthetic and simulated extended-reality testing, training, and operations.

The US Airforce joins a list of other entities that include Meta, Mastercard, and the American Express that have filed for metaverse offerings. 

The latest applications comes when the metaverse and NFT-related trademark filing applications rose 421 times in 2021 compared to the previous year.
