(Twitter) The Ukrainian government has received over 500 tips in accelerated moves targeting addresses of crypto assets of Russian politicians.
The country’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, says the decision to offer crypto bounties seeks to hold the politicians into account for “war crimes.”
Fedorov has already appointed Arten Afian, a lawyer, for the tipoff initiative, which also targets Belarusian politicians.
The crypto donations are expected to be obtained from donations, offering an alternative weapon to curtail Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine expects to share the addresses with the leading global exchanges as the country moves to disincentivize transactions involving individuals from the aggressor countries.
The decision to use crypto to tip comes days after Ukraine started accepting donations in crypto as it seeks to fight off the Russian aggressors.
