UK Posts a 0.5% Quarter Over Quarter Improvement in Employment Rate

(ONS) UK employment rate stood at 75.3% in the June to August quarter, up 0.5% from the previous quarter. The employment rate is now only 1.3% below the pre-pandemic quarter.

UK Employment, Unemployment, and Economic Inactivity Rate

The unemployment rate in the third quarter reached 4.5%, after a 0.4% decrease from the previous quarter. The unemployment rate is now 0.5% higher than in the pre-pandemic period.

Economic inactivity was estimated to be 21.1%, down 0.2% from the previous quarter. The inactivity rate is now 0.9% above the pre-pandemic level.

FTSE 100 is down -0.52%, GBPUSD is up +0.16%.
