UK House Prices Starts December With a 0.7% Dip

(Rightmove) Property prices in the UK fell by 0.7% or 2,234 pounds in December as sellers geared up for a return to normal market conditions next year.

Average House Asking Price Trend

Valuation requests from homeowners rose 19% from the prior year, reflecting more people anticipating to move in the new year, despite the available units hitting a record this month.

Rightmove forecasts house prices to surge by 5% in 2022, with the costs weighed down by affordability issues and more buyer choice from new sellers previously hesitant to list property.

Rightmove projects about 1.5 million house sales for the full year 2021, with current levels already at a record since 2007.
