U.S New Home Sales Declined by 5.9% in April

Demand for new single-family houses in April waned as sales fell at 5.9% to an annual rate of 863,000 from March, according to the Census Bureau press release.

April’s new home sales were 48.3% higher than that of the comparable month of 2020.

A median sales price of $372,400 for new houses was recorded April while the average price was $435,400.

As of the end of April, 316,000 new houses were available, representing a 4.4 months supply at the prevailing rates.
