Trump Maintains Advantage over Biden in Key Swing States

Former President Donald Trump continues to hold an advantage over President Joe Biden in the crucial U.S. states that will likely determine the outcome of the 2024 White House race, according to a recent poll.

According to the Bloomberg News-Morning Consult survey, Trump currently enjoys an average support of 48% among swing-state voters, while Biden stands at 42%. This poll focused specifically on seven battleground states.

Interestingly, Trump’s lead over Biden was most significant in North Carolina with a margin of 10 percentage points. On the other hand, his advantage was smallest in Arizona and Pennsylvania, with a difference of just 3 points, as indicated by the chart below.

When respondents were questioned about trust in handling the U.S. economy, 51% of swing-state voters expressed their confidence in Trump, while only 33% believed Biden would be better equipped for the task.

In terms of immigration, a majority of 52% stated that they considered Trump to be the stronger candidate on the issue, while only 30% favored Biden.

However, there is one positive aspect for Biden’s re-election campaign. Among voters in these battleground states, 53% claimed that they would not be willing to support Trump in the general election if he were to be found guilty of a crime. Furthermore, 55% stated that they would not back him if he were sentenced to prison.
